- I AM GRATEFUL FOR NOT HAVING TO ATTEND MANY FUNERALS.
I have been fortunate to not have very many family or friends pass away in my lifetime. My mom and my mother-n-law had been the most recent until this past weekend.
At 64.5 and having spent time the Cancer and cardiology wards, I suspected I would be hosting one, but have outwitted the Devil for a bit longer. All my friends are 50-70, so you kind of expect that funerals would be in the game plan. sooner than you would like.
Saturday, Lise and I attended a funeral for a friend of hers from the orchestra. She was 39. There was lots of quiet reflection time sitting in the hard pews.
It struck me how lucky I was and of course, even more so, all the people I know. that we are not seeing each other off on the big voyage just yet.
I am thankful for that - even though the time will come all too soon.
